The practical bit

Getting to World’s Edge Fantasy Fayre

By road

From Colchester, take the A12 to Witham. Then head out towards Braintree on the B1018. Cressing Temple Barns is well-signposted from this road.

Free parking is available at the site.

If you need Blue Badge parking, please let us know when you book - you’ll receive a QR code to show when you arrive so our friendly pixies can direct you!

By public transport

The nearest train station is Witham (3 miles away).

From there, you can get a taxi (7-minute journey, advance booking recommended).

Walking is not recommended as there is a stretch of busy country road without footpaths.

There are some bicycle stands in the parking area.

Where to stay

World’s Edge Fayre doesn’t offer onsite camping, due to the archaeologically important nature of Cressing Temple Barns. However, we have partnered with Sparrows Campsite, an 18-minute drive away.

Set within a stunning 10-acre wild grass meadow, Sparrows’ private camping and glamping field offers a peaceful and well-equipped base exclusively for Fayre guests at a special price.

Facilities and features include:

  • Glamping stays are available in fully furnished Bell tents.

  • Flushing toilets

  • Hot showers

  • Covered communal kitchen & dining space

  • Communal bonfire area

  • Expansive 10-acre meadow nestled in the countryside

  • Private access exclusively for fayre attendees

  • Campervan-friendly pitches

  • Dog-friendly environment (well-behaved dogs welcome)

Enjoy a comfortable stay immersed in nature, with space to relax, socialise, and unwind after a day at the fayre.

If you don’t fancy camping, there are plenty of hotels and other accommodation options in the local area!

Book camping at Sparrows

I’m not local, what is the area like?

Cressing Temple Barns is towards the north of Essex, where the smart towns and cities of Chelmsford, Colchester and Braintree give way to countryside. The area is characterised by river valleys, woodland and old-fashioned villages with pastel houses and historic pubs.

If you’d like to stay in a town, then Braintree, Witham and Chelmsford are closest, each with hotels and B&Bs.

If you prefer a quieter stay, then there are plenty of holiday cottages and campsites in the surrounding villages. Close by is also historic Coggeshall, a village with a market-town feel that has independent shops, National Trust sites and olde-worlde pubs.

Site map and timetable

A sitemap and full detailed timetable will be released in the weeks before the fayre. If you’ve booked tickets or are trading, entertaining or competing, you’ll get an email.
