About
time there was a really good, genre-crossing, atmospheric fantasy fayre in East Anglia, we said, and so the foundations of World’s Edge Fantasy Fayre were laid.
After 15 years of organising, attending and working at events, we decided it was time the fantasy and sci-fi communities of Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridge and East London had a festival to call home.
We also wanted to create something different. This isn’t a ‘tents in a field’ event - the fantastic medieval venue of Cressing Temple Barns enabled us to create something that feels like a real place. Enter World’s Edge, and you’ll feel like you’ve wandered into a magical, travelling village on market day, just as it happens to connect with our dimension.
Our knightly venue
Our 2026 fayre was set in a unique 25-acre site once owned by the Knights Templar, Cressing Temple Barns. At its heart are a number of medieval and Tudor buildings which transformed into taverns, artisans' markets, guildhalls and more!
Around the barns and other buildings were 25 acres of lawns and woodland. There was plenty of space for a real magical market of artisans and traders, as well as an arena where attendees cheered on battling heroes and were wowed by fantastical beasts.
For 2027, the village will be returning to Cressing Temple Barns!
About us
World’s Edge is founded by a small team of passionate and longstanding fans of fantasy, sci-fi and all things imaginative.
Mark - Event Organiser & Operations
Mark’s love of fantasy and sci-fi was ignited in the 80s and the light has never gone out. Before moving into events, he opened and ran a successful fantasy-themed outdoor company, spending his spare time playing, reading, watching and trying anything he could find that appealed to his love of other worlds. It’s his vision and drive that is bringing World’s Edge into the dimension of reality.
Sam - Event Organiser & Marketing
Sam is a lifelong fantasy fan who devoured every book in the YA Fantasy section of the library by age 9 and began sneaking into the adult section.
She’s worked on and helped to run events and festivals for local authorities for 15 years, and has been a regular stallholder at fantasy events around the country alongside the ‘day job’ in marketing and comms. She casts a creative spell over the fayre, helping to bring World’s Edge to life in your imagination.
The WEFF Gang
We’re lucky to be supported by a fantastic group of ne’er-do-wells who are creating props, contributing ideas and getting stuck into planning. You’ll hear more about them all as the months go by.
